Creative stitchery!

What a nice inspiring weekend! A fantastic artist named Emma Jönsson has an exhibition in Järpen kulturhus and hold a workshop on Saturday. She is a textil artist who paints on fabrics and then build her picture with
stitchery and a lot of details. Her pictures and stitchery communicate a light and ephemeral atmosphere and every artwork tell a story of it's own.

I JUST LOVE IT!

Since it's well known that we can create better if the rigt side of the brain operate at its full potential we started up to slowly draw our hand without looking at the pencil or paper.
 Hard fun work!
Then a lot of croquis, fast one for two or five minutes! We really had a lot of practice how to look and see different shapes and lines.

This is  drawings that my classmates made. Great work ladies!

After lunch we finally could pick up our sewing things and yarns. Now it is the moment of truth!
Emma act modell and we are suposed to stitch her by just look and find the lines and shapes.
No drawing!
I found it surprisingly easy! My brains right side must have been alert! :)

Here are some results from class!

Some details from Emmas fantastic work!

To all of you who have the opportunity to visit her exhibition...DO..it's worth it!
The exhibition is going on until 3 April.

Hugs from a happy lady full of new energy! Margreth :)

Still here!

Time goes by...and I've had a great week! Winter break and such peaceful days!
Days have been filled by both buisness and pleasure...mostly pleasure in fact. :)
Sewing,  of course....spring cleaning, hmmmm......our store and laundry facilities
 are spotlessly clean and organized.

I've had massage....TWICE... that's LUXERY... my stiff muscles are like new.

Some skiing...long walks..and.....when I repotted, I found a flower bud on my lemon tree. Happiness!

I love to take each day as it comes! The question is...What do I feel like today?

In the Studio I have finished my quilt with baskets and coltsfoot.
I think it expresses my spring feelings!
Surprisingly finished before springs arrivel! I show you a picture later....battery ran out!

My project with Kaffe Fasset's fabrics is progressing. There's a lot of fabric to cut and pieces to move around to find the right place....I want the layout to sparkle.
The design wall is changing day by day!

LOVELY DAYS!

What more can you ask for?

Fruit Sallad!

There has been a while since last. I haven't been lazy but doing other things than sew.
Work of course....skiing....training.....family... husband ( needs some attention)...seeing friends and all that makes life worth living.

Today, it has been some activity at Studio 22. As you know, I have increased my collection of Kaffe Fasset fabrics. Lovely stuff! I also purchased his book Quilts en Provence and found his pattern Fruit Sallad Quilt nice.  Sooooo......

  This is what happend today!

                                                         Cutting, cutting and more cutting!

This is a start...you never know how it will develop. I finally could use my design wall, this projekt needs
it.....mowing the fabrics all over to find the right place to make the quilt sparkle.

The last word is not said!

I'm going to play a lot!

A golden oldie!

Saturday....great weather...sunny...and a lot of snow. We went for a rather long ski trip.
Then good food, a glas of wine and then...good night.
This spring fever makes me CRACY!

Well... Today I figured out that if I work sustaining all day without resting then I have to stay awake.
                          Such as....baking bread...  the laundry....clean the house...iron....and...
Puh..makes me tired just writing about it!

Yes,... I did all this and more......and I'm still  awake and spirited. :)

When I was cleaning the floor in the entrance I saw some old quilts laying on the wardrobe. Well...I had to shake the dust off. Doing that I discovered that I made the quilt with tulips 17 years ago!
                                                       That's a golden oldie!!
The tough angel is made by Stina...Kviltstina. I just love it! :)

I was cleaning the Studio too....a lot of threads, fabrics and dust.....and as every time I go there I make
plans. Maybe I start cutting my Kaffe Fasset fabrics this evening.....

                                                          Provided I don't fall asleep!

Inspiration!

Is it possible to feel springfever already! I'm not sure of that.... Most people is full of energi..cheerful and frisky. I want to be all that ...but....some of us is a different kind. ......TIRED....JASP!
Well.....I train three-four evenings a week...eat...sleep. Sounds fun...or?
So how is my work in the studio progressing? Answer....not a lot!

But if you not sew you can in all cases make plans.....
Lena Linderholm is an artist who use wonderful, bright colors that makes me feel happy when I see it.
Less tired!
I have some of her work at home. Lovely colors and a rather naiv impression that I appreciate.
A smell of Provence.....I have some French fabrics in a drawer....maybe another quilt to be done?

Well....I have three quilts to finish. My last one....baskets and coltsfoots ( Tussilago, farfara) is finished to quilt. I just have to figure out how? ....some thinking to do!

FINALLY........I want to say WELCOME! to all new followers.
I'm so happy that you find my blogg worth following!

New fabrics!

I was happy to receive some fabrics in the mail this week.:) Kaffe Fassets collection Classics and Joanna Figueroas Buttercup for Moda. Kaffe Fassets fabrics are beautiful and the pattern quite challenging. The colours are just...wow :)

I played with Fassets fabric on the floor and tried different combinations, great fun! Hmmm.....I might make a quilt that fits on the couch. We'll see!

Anyway.... I have stitched up the basket blocks today and also tried to figure out how to finish the quilt??
I don't want it to become an UFO.......

Well, back to work and I hard training.....I got a personal training coach last week...hope she can make sure that I train properly....no excuses!

Hey!...... I heard birds singing today...is it spring in the air?

Keep on!

This lovely day was last weekend. A perfekt day for skiing. Cold, sunny and no wind.
This weekend is the opposit, clowdy, windy and rather mild weather. A typical day for quilting!
That's good too!

I prepard by a visit to Mariannes quiltbod, I run out fabrics....... mostly fabrics appropiate as backgroud.
Of course I found some other fabrics that I couldn't resist.....nice to have in the piles.
Have it ever happend to you? =)

Well...after a chatt online with my daughter in India...I began to sew.
Puuuh.....My studio is a mess...fabrics  and threads all over the place. Maybe a creative kaos. =)

Now there are fifthteen blocks with baskets finished. There are a lot of coltsfoot missing so I just have to KEEP ON!

I wonder if I'm going to make some other blocks between the baskets? Hmmmmm...that is worth considering...or? What do you think?

I let it rest for a while.......                        MARGRETH
