New Wave!

What a thrill ..... Today I stood face to face with a moose! My husband and I took a ski trip during the day. It was misty and heavy snow. In a downhill run when I stood crouched, I looked up and there it was ... 20-25m in front of me. It stood quite still, and I stopped quickly and backed off. Seriously .. I was scared .. backed off, hoping that my husband would show up quickly. The moose stood still ... stared at me ... and I soon understood why ..... it was waiting for her calf, which slowly came lumbering.
Eventually they  calmly went away and my heart stoped banging.  My husband who came up also saw king of the forest in all its glory ...... and then .... so bravely sent his wife first in the groove!

But......why didn't I have my camera?

Well...it's much more peaceful in my studio. Today I sewed shadows of curvy models behind my fashion models. It' some details missing but I think it will be great when it is finished....I hope!

And then.....

I could't resist to start up my New Wave quilt. What a fun and easy pattern!

I chosed a gray fabric to sew the pieces together with ... it makes  a pretty nice contrast, I think...

This is just a beginning of a quilt that is not very well planned ...... we'll see how big it gets.

These are some little boxes that I got from my son ... he probably thought I needed something to put all the little stuff that I save ... cute isn't they?

..looking ahead!

Did you notice that days are longer and the sun rises over the horizon and shines longer and longer every day? Happiness...:)
Yesterday I had a lovely day skiing. I felt energi flowing.... we here in the north neeeeed the sun after several months of darkness.

With sun and light comes inspiration and creativity. I can do this and that.......
Actually it has been very little time in the studio...... but you can think and plan for old and new projects.

Still...........I've made some progress with Catwalk .....
I have printed a few words with textile paint and drawing some curvy models that I plan to quilt next to my jagged blocks of models.
It feels good to have a contrast between the soft and angular shapes. I have also designed  possible quilt patterns .... hmmmmm
I try to find something that fits and enhances the quilts expression.

.....enough of thinking.....

Hey.....look at this!
I was surfing looking for fabrics and found this at  Cotton Patch .....on sale!!!

33 fat quarters..... lovely fabrics!!!!

Amy Butlers Midwest Modern range, Passion,Tangerine, Blossom and Spring
Wow.....I must get started with a new projekt........:)

Lucky me!

A great day!

I have sewn a cloth to the table using the old plaid fabrics that have been stored in boxes.
I love plaids......but it was a long time since I used them like this :)

I have been in the studio several hours today.......just great!
I tried not to think about all other stuff that have to bee done this time a year.....
enjoy my free time....see snowflakes gently fall....wow.

But...but I have to pull myself together and bake some gingerbread ...
and find that it's quite meditative to stand there making stars, hearts and pigs...... and the aroma spreads in the house...mmmmmmm

...the red fabrics is a projekt I started up today.... a Christmas gift?

Run and Quilt!

Running and quilting go together .... have you tried? Fresh air ... motion and flow allows the brain to get started and ideas come in lots.

That's how it is for me. It's great!
Last time running there appeared a new design from Let's Dance and Cat Walk quilts .. namely
 Let's walk!
A simple sketch is drawn ... We'll see what happens .. if there's something coming out of it?

How do you get inspiration and flow?

Fall holidays

After some thinking.. planing for my days off.... I decided that.....I just do what I long for!
YES!!! :)
So..I want to exercise, sew, read, crochet, make some bread, yoga and..

Outside it's still Fall....a little bit weird because at this time a year there's often snow coming, especially in the mountins. But...no snow in sight.
I have seen flowers that bloom in the summer and trees with leaf bud.
Something is wrong!?

But still I can enjoy the fantastic sunny, foggy weather and the landscapes beautiful dull colors..it's magical.

The sunset is wonderful!

Who could imagine that the grandmother's square would be modern again?
You can make pillows, blankets, sweaters...
I started crocheting with a lovely, soft wool yarn.... a cosy scarf for cold days.
Very fun and easy to make! :)

...and of course...I had a long day in the studio..hours flew away!

Cat walk is progressing.....I did sew some more models in different positions today.

Now it's time to decide how the blocks will be sewn together ...hopefully tomorrow!

Happy Quilting!
