A great week!

This week has been all through a success!

Everything I wished and planned for has come true.

Our children has been at home...
I have been skiing a lot!
I've had time to spend quality time with my old parents.
I have planted about my flowers in fresh soil.
Some shopping....but no fabrics!
The weather has been great...sunny...cold...and snow.
and many hours in the studio!!! :)

I feel like......

Well rested and happy .. free from work .... then the urge to create something
comes like a letter in the mail.
The first thing I did was throw my project with chairs in the trash.
Away with it!
Leaving on a project where the inspiration has run out......
and up with new fresh fabrics and colors. :)

It felt so good to start up again with new fresh eyes..... and now the pieces fall to place.......

 You get a little peek!

One day I was leafing through a magazine and saw this picture.

Dare to be dramatic.....
is in the image and on the floor is a carpet that gave me the idea.
I have long thought it would be fun to do something of all the leftover pieces of fabric.
 I have a lot!!!!!!
You have them too, I'm sure?
So I poured out some of them on the floor and began to sew
trying to take something in the pile without planning .. but that's not easy!

...........the first block.....

...and after a while...

This is a fun no strings attached way to sew .... full of playfulness among all colors.

We'll see where it carries away!!!

Plaid and dots

First of all......

I want to thank everyone who has written so kind, encouraging comments in my last post.

I'm so happy and almost blushes when you write so nicely.

 A big warm thank you!!!

A week ago these fabrics were in the mail ... very nice!
I have always loved plaid and polka dot fabrics but not used them in a quilt for a long time.
Now I can start planning ... the inspiration came in the mail too :))

Well......this weekend I started up to finish quilt number 3
My New Wave quilt is to be quilted........
and the pile of UFOs are decreasing........that makes me feel good!

Spring is probably a bit away but I have spring feelings anyway ....
..... the light returns to this dark part of the world.

Soooooo.........:))

Here is one of my favorite quilts in rerun .... coltsfoots in baskets...
....the first spring flower!!

Finish nr 2

 UFO number two is finished!
It has been a long journey with hand quilting and it has taken time because the sight is somehow inferior. Surely it can't be age?
Well ... this is how it turned out in the end!

A sixth triangle quilt made of Kaffe Fassets great fabrics.
I love them!
It is a bright cold day here and the quilt makes a fantastic picture in the winter landscape.

...brrrrrrrrr

Snow, frost and icicles from the roof.

The quilt measures 51x79  inches and is hand quilted in feather pattern.
Louise, a good friend of mine gave me the inspiration for almost a year ago ...
....gee how time flies!

The back is like this!

....here you can see the quilting quite well.

Sooo..this chilly day it's nice to sit in the chair and
crawl under the quilt and cuddle ... or?

........... is it better on the couch ....... hmmmmm?

Sagas Quilt

Sagas quilt is finished, quilted and bound. :) .... the first finished quilt 2013!

A warm cosy one......

The quilts back is made of several fabrics.
It feels good to use  some of the small leftovers...... ....and it sure makes the back more
interesting and vibrant.

This quilt is made in warm colors and remind me of spring coming.......but when I look out it's still full winter.
Snow and cold...but couldn't I feel the sun a little bit warm to my nose today?

Soooo....I had to look at my bulbs......dreaming :)

Sagas quilt is blooming and soon it's time to plant some bulbs in pots ....I'm longing
to see small green leaves coming up.

Happy quilting!

Slow progress

Oh well..... if there is insufficient time to sew, you can always order fabrics .. right?
And dream about future projects.
So do I! :)
I got these great Kaffe Fassett fabrics in the mail this week.

Lovely ones!

Still....there is some work done:)

I have taken the last handmade stitch on my Sixth triangle quilt.....now to be bounded.
Just need to buy some more fabric!!!!!

Saga's quilt will be embroidered with her name and birthday...sooon finished!

Hi....look at this! A very cool picture!
This is one of the things that inspire me :)
Look at the pattern the chairs forms, the surface between the chairs, colors .... fun right?

Happy...!

A new year is approaching and it's exciting to think about what it will bring :)

Hopefully a lot of joy with family and friends....:)

I dream about...

......some amazing quilts to sew and one or two UFO:s to finish.
Finding lots of fun colorful fabrics ...
Be inspired by exciting things and experiences around me..... and all that you, my friends,
share with me through your blogs:)
Your fabulous quilts and thoughts about sewing and how you, in my eyes, creat works of art.

...

Thanks to all of you who share my world of quilting!

Love to you and see you around next year!

Cool!

Check out the cool chairs!

Twenty artists have decorated the famous chair Ant by Arne Jacobsen.
For me who like chairs, it's really a fun creative ide.
You can read about the project and loook at the fabulous chairs at

Well, how is it going with my "designer" chairs then?
 Very slooooow!
A few chairs are stitched but I have very brief moments to be in the studio.
But ..... you have to be happy for the little sometimes :)
So be patient .... the quilt will surely be ready.

Four days!

I looked forward to four days off with a lovely time in the studio
but a lot of other things showed up instead.
Cleaning the house ... surprising what a lot of dust to be found! Family to be cared for ... exercise .. .and the our daughter came home to cuddle....and..and..

Well, in other words... it has been great!

Late on Sunday afternoon I had a session in the studio.
I ironed my dyed fabrics and sewed a chair.
But the result was not so good .. bad flow :(

...but my fabrics are ok! :)

Soo..I had to do something else .... up with a lot of interior design magazines.

I began to study different models of chairs instead.
What amazing... sometimes completely unreal models there are!

Very fun and a lot of inspiration!

I make a fresh effort in the studio another day!

Happy Quilting!
