Great news...

I'm so happy that ¨Cat Walk¨ has been chosen as Sweden's contribution to the
European Quilt Associations exhibition " Diversity in Europe" during the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham. European countries are invited to participate with one quilt each .. I hardly belive my quilt is one of them!
Soooo...... in August it's off to Birmingham to experience all the fabulous quilts at the festival. Think how much inspiration to take part in! :)

You can see Cat Walk at "Last stitch" !

This is my first and only attempt to be a model..... I promise!

......hey..... where are those long shapely legs?

......... are gorgeous but I stand to pose for two minutes before my feet hurt .....puh!

Midst of all the amazing things happening........
... my tulips are blooming ... check which works of art nature offers.

Spring does work wonders... it's time to make a new quilt .. something spring-like?

Lovely Sunday!

What a lovely sunny spring day! It happens a lot of things both outdoor and in the conservatory.
Fig tree leaves burst and tiny figs grow .... wonderful!

I sat in my comfortable lounge chair in the sun and quilted on my Kaffee Fasset quilt.
The light is fantastic and then it's easy to make the stitching.
It's sort of a meditative feeling to let the needle and thread do the work.
A great feeling to bring along!

Last stitch

Now, the last stitch is done and the project finished. It feels so great :o)
It's been a long process from the idea that showed up last summer when I had a boring night.
Suddenly  the idea of models came up and I began to sketch on the nearest paper.

In what poses are a model most often in anyway?

Off to the nearest store and buy a fashion magazine to study the fashion world closer.
Fashion has been a blank page for me.  To study the pages on the Internet was also good.
aha ...new knowledge doesn't hurt!  I was thinking about colors and went through the piles of fabric .... picked, concidered. Then it was time to start drawing a workable pattern of different models and sew examples to see if the idea was feasible ..... and it was.:o)
Then there appeared ideas as the project was in progress. Print, paint and apply.
It turned out that my square long-legged models needed a contrast ...... so I made the curvy models like shadows ....

Here's Cat Walk!

The quilt measures 40x51 inches.

Close-up!

Summer turned into fall and winter...and when spring is knocking on the door Cat Walk  decorates our conservatorie and daffodils peeps out in my pots.

Crochet!

I've had a cold .....runny red nose and fever.
It's really boring sitting under a blanket and blunt look at the uninteresting TV programs.
Soooo... I picked up my crocheting .....  the scarf is done but I need a matching cap.
 A cap with grandma's squares?
I remember that my friends raised their eyebrows when I told them about my project.
   But now it's finished!
                                                     Not to bad!

Sew-work out!

It's too frezing cold to ski.....so what to do. I need my work out!
Soo how....
I have a great idea!
My Pilates ball!
I got it for Christmas from my daughter ... she knows what a mother needs!

Said and done .. and it worked really really well! To sew while practicing your inner muscles and stabilize the body works.

I recommend you to try it!

....and a bit pushups!

......a  little situps .... puh ... and then you can sit at the sewing machine for a while again.
Then some training .......and so on!

Go for it!

What's up?

Here is a brief update of what's happening in the studio. It's very fun to sew New Wave :)... so my second major project Cat Walk have to wait. New Wave is fast and easy ...great fun!

The only problem is that my pile of UFOs is getting huge ..... or maybe I should see it as a good thing.....when spring is comming...then I can sit outdoor and quilt.... Yes!

Well...most of the blocks are done......

Look what I found in the greenhouse today .... buds are breaking ...

Lovely thought!
Light!

New Wave!

What a thrill ..... Today I stood face to face with a moose! My husband and I took a ski trip during the day. It was misty and heavy snow. In a downhill run when I stood crouched, I looked up and there it was ... 20-25m in front of me. It stood quite still, and I stopped quickly and backed off. Seriously .. I was scared .. backed off, hoping that my husband would show up quickly. The moose stood still ... stared at me ... and I soon understood why ..... it was waiting for her calf, which slowly came lumbering.
Eventually they  calmly went away and my heart stoped banging.  My husband who came up also saw king of the forest in all its glory ...... and then .... so bravely sent his wife first in the groove!

But......why didn't I have my camera?

Well...it's much more peaceful in my studio. Today I sewed shadows of curvy models behind my fashion models. It' some details missing but I think it will be great when it is finished....I hope!

And then.....

I could't resist to start up my New Wave quilt. What a fun and easy pattern!

I chosed a gray fabric to sew the pieces together with ... it makes  a pretty nice contrast, I think...

This is just a beginning of a quilt that is not very well planned ...... we'll see how big it gets.

These are some little boxes that I got from my son ... he probably thought I needed something to put all the little stuff that I save ... cute isn't they?
