Bodils quilt

Bodils quilt is finished and posted! I hope she like it! Bodil is my brothers
grandchild and Johan and Majas doughter.

This is how the quilt turned out ....like a wisper of Spring.

I  have chosen warm colors and to accentuate the pattern by embroider.
And I could'nt help myself sewing a small patch on the quilt.
 My signature!!!

I quilted by mashine and made small hearts in line.
Here you can see the embroidery, cross stitch and back stitch.

The back is very intensive, an explosion in red and orange. And of course the obligatory
label with Bodils name and date of birth.

A warm congratulations to Johan, Maja and sister Astrid.

Happy Quilting!

Antons quilt!

Grandchild number two in 2016 is Anton!

....and his quilt turned out like this!

As Aksels quilt, this is also stitched in mainly blue with accents in green and red.

It measures 32x35 inches.

Once again I decorate by sew small pieces of fabric to the quilt.
I think it gives the quilt that little extra touch.

The back is important!
To use different fabrics makes it more interesting.

Now..... Anton has a sister. Selma two years old.

I made a Waldorf doll to her for Christmas.
A  thought of it is that the doll should look like the child who gets the doll.
I think it did quite well.
One thing was to knit the same sweater and hat I knitted to Selma.

A New Year...new  challenges!
I really look forward to it!

Happy Quilting!

Baby quilts

First of all..Happy New Year to all of you!

I wish that we will have a joyful year
and a more peaceful world for all of us.

The holidays are over and Christmas presents handed to my grandchildren.
Then I can show you the baby quilts that I sewed for my last
 two grandchildren, Aksel and Anton.

And a doll to Selma!

I start with Aksels quilt today. He was born in May 2016.

I chosed to sew a quilt with flying geese and the colors that I know that the parents like.
Blue, red and with a touch of violett.
All fabrics are carefully washed and the batting is of organic bamboo.
The quilt is mashine quilted.

The quilt measure 32x35 inches.

On the quilt back, I embroidered Aksels name and birth date.

Here you can see some details in close-up!

I like to decorate quilts with small pieces of fabrics.
I sew them on the quilt with embroidery yarns.
A kind of signature on some of my quilts.

Here's the back!
...and you can see the quilting.

A quilt to my lovely Aksel!

In my next post I show you Antons quilt and Selmas doll!

Happy quilting days!
